The Next Steps

So this “undecided teen” has a little more direction in her life! I picked a school for the fall, finally! The college search is over! The winner is St. Mary’s College of California! It is completely perfect for me. Warm weather, small class sizes, and they have a great kinesiology program- which is what I’m looking to study! If I enjoy that sort of thing I’m thinking of going into chiropractic or some sort of dance/physical therapy. I still have yet to explore those options. But I’m absolutely thrilled about what the future holds for me. So I’ll be in NY until the middle of july, and then over the summer I’m interning at a chiropractic place, and then middle of August I head off to California! Hopping from one adventure to the next. I have enjoyed this past year so much. I have learned a lot, and definitely grown a lot. I am so grateful to have all of these amazing opportunities in my life, and most importantly, so many amazing people. Thank you everyone for your support. Love you all! XO

P.S. The only downside to St. Marys… Go Gaels?!Image

Out Of Date

Hello world. I’ve gotten some feedback that my blog is a little “out of date” by multiple parties, and I would hate to keep them out of the loop! The past few months have been.. Interesting. I am still in NY, still working hard. There was an opportunity for me to nanny in France in the late summer, but since I start school so soon in the fall I’m going to go back to Utah around July I think. Hopefully I’ll get a new job, and a place to live and whatnot before school starts in the fall. I’m leaning towards staying in Utah for school, primarily because it’s so inexpensive compared to out of state tuition. Which is fine. The University of Utah and Westminster College are two really great schools, and I’ll be close to family, which I have definitely missed here. There’s that saying that you don’t know what you have until it’s gone, and that’s so true. I would trade anything to go to Whole Foods with my family for lunch today! :) Today on the agenda was a root canal, grocery shopping, cleaning, and possibly a manicure. I need a little afternoon treat to get my week going. It’s so warm here! The lows all week are in the high 40′s, and the highs reaching up to 70! I’m thrilled! I’ve missed the sun. Oh– I’ve also started taking some dance classes in NYC and I’m loving it. Dancing just makes me feel better. About pretty much everything. I’ve missed it way too much this year. The problem is, by the time I get into the city, and make my way to the studio, and then pay for a dance class, and get something to eat/coffee after, it becomes an expensive day. But it’s worth it. I hope everything is well from all of my followers, I love you all. Thank you for your continued support and love. XO

Monday Monday

Monday’s. They’re either really productive or sleepy nap days. Today I managed to combine the two! After taking the girls to school I came home and cleaned, and then headed to the oral surgeon because I had a few concerns. (I had my wisdom teeth out on Friday) But he said it looked fine, just very swollen. And then I went to the store and bought a pan and lemon bar mix. And I came home and prepared dinner so that I didn’t have to do it tonight, (the girls are really busy on Monday’s), and ate lunch, and made lemon bars. Then I did some laundry, and went and laid in bed! I watched an episode of Grey’s Anatomy, skyped with the boyfriend, napped for an hour, and then went and picked up the kids! Efficient day!

Wonderful Week

Yesterday was a great start to this week. Last week was a bit stressful due to my emergency root canal, and having to deal with insurance companies, etc. But this week will be better. Yesterday I made spontaneous applesauce, I’ve never made it before. It was delicious! And I also have this new thing where I float wilted flowers in water, it makes for a lovely centerpiece. And to top it off, I made an orange into a candle. I’ll attach pictures of all these things :) I have my wisdom teeth surgery on Friday.. I’m nervous. But it will be good to get it over with. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

I have a family friend Samantha McMillan who just went to live in South Africa for a while, (her father is from there), and she has this great blog that I love reading so far. She’s just getting started, but I’m so excited to read about all of her adventures. It sounds amazing! A beautiful person living in a beautiful place– Check it out here! XO

New Year Idea

For 2012 I’m going to get a jar, and when something makes me smile, I am going to write it down on a strip of paper, date it, and put it in my “2012 Jar.” December 31, 2012, I will read everything in the jar. I saw the idea on Pinterest and thought it was worth sharing! Hooray 2012! Something that I can put in my jar thus far– My entire family dropping me off at the airport when I left for NY (Jan 2nd), they chanted my name all the way to the other side of security.. I have a feeling it’s going to be a great year. May 2012 bring you joy and prosperity. :)

Back To Reality

I’m back to NY after a short lived holiday in Utah. Short as it may have been, it was so great to see everybody, and to relax a bit. My mom and I went on a little mother-daughter road trip to Las Vegas the day after Christmas. Despite getting sick the day I got there, the trip didn’t turn out too bad. We saw Phantom of the Opera and The Lion King- both great shows! And we ate a Delmonico- Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant-delicious. I have included pictures of the trip below. And now I’m back to work, getting back into the swing of things. Feeling very tired this week, adjusting to the time difference again. I hope everyone had a marvelous Christmas/New Years! I have made my New Years resolutions, now its time to act upon them! Happy New Year!

And a special Happy Birthday to Chase Pribble-19 today! Love you!

Thank You

I came to a realization today while I was ironing pillow cases. All of my life I’ve found it so strange that Moms/Grandmas could enjoy doing household chores. My grandma loves doing dishes, even after she’s cooked a huge fantastic meal for everyone. Well today while I was ironing, I actually found myself enjoying it. I’ve found that mom’s enjoy doing those silly household chores, because they care. They care about the appearance of the house, and how efficient the household is running. They don’t do those things because ironing is their passion, they do it because they care. So I wanted to thank my Mom for making me do chores every Saturday since I can remember, because now that I am having to do all these tasks, it really isn’t so bad, because I care about the family and the house and the laundry and so on and so forth. And it doesn’t mean that I enjoyed Saturday Chores, don’t be mistaken. I just mean that I can now appreciate ironing pillow cases, and doing dishes. Happy Holidays!
